agency in Southwest Florida, Moody Agency markets personal and commercial insurance to
Florida residents and businesses. We specialize insuring risks in Sarasota
and Charlotte counties, and have offices in Venice, Florida and North Port, Florida. Our highly-trained licensed staff excels at
providing quality insurance at economical rates, while maintaining the
personal, involved, and quick service insurance clients desire.
We continue our relationships with
large national companies, like Travelers, Encompass, and Progressive, as well
as seasoned Florida companies like Tower Hill, ASI, Gulfstream, Bankers, and
others. With access to large national brokerages, we are able to provide for
harder-to-place risks. The Moody Agency is proud to be Tower Hill Emerald
Agency, as well as a Travelers Elite Agency. Our balance of national and local
partnership has long been one of the defining strengths of our organization.
We have adapted to the chaotic
Florida insurance market, making sure that our agency continues to provide the
insurance our clients need. Among our many accomplishments, the Moody Agency
has received national recognition after winning the Best Practices Agency Award
for 2010/2011 from Reagan Consulting.
Community
involvement is important to the success of any business. Moody Agency is a
member of the Venice and North Port Chambers of Commerce. We support
the Loveland Center, Venice Theater, Venice Symphony, YMCA, Salvation Army, and local school fund raisers. Our employees are active in local
churches and civic clubs.

Our History
Moody Agency was started in 1959 by Mrs. Elene Moody. She was only the
fourth female insurance agent in the State of Florida. The Intercoastal
Waterway was yet to be built, and Venice, Florida was a sleepy coastal
town. Beginning as a small retail agency insuring homes and small
businesses, the name Moody became a standard for insurance agencies in
Florida.
In
1984, Mrs. Moody sold the agency to Mr. Bill Zane, who continued the
traditions of excellent coverage and service. In 2001, Mr. Zane sold the
business, and today Moody Agency is managed by Gar and Nancy Reese, Mr. Zane’s
son-in-law and daughter.
As news of Moody Agency's great service and rates spread, we recognized a need
to open an office closer to North Port and Charlotte County. Moody Agency North
Port opened in January 2008. The North Port location proved very popular, and
just two years later the North Port office moved to a larger space next to the
Family Table Restaurant.
After decades in one location, our main office in Venice moved to a new
location on the island. We now have eleven employees between our Venice
and North Port offices.
